Meringue

 Ingredients:

	3 egg whites
	1/4 cream of tartar
	6 tablespoons sugar
	1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions:
	Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. Continue beating until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat. Beat in vanilla.
	For meringue shells:  drop by 1/3 cupfuls onto brown paper.  Bake one hour at 275'.  Turn off oven and leave meringes in oven with door closed 1 1/2 hours.  Finish cooling away from draft.
